Compare a consistent shipment brief
Send each provider the same commodity description, package count, gross weight, dimensions, cargo-ready date and destination. State whether you need port-to-port or door-to-door service, and whether you need export clearance, destination clearance, or both. This makes differences in proposals easier to understand.
Ask who is responsible for each stage
Separate freight coordination, customs declaration, collection, terminal handling and final delivery. Confirm which legal entity quotes, which party performs each stage and who will answer operational questions. Ask for shipment-relevant credentials or experience when needed and check the supporting evidence.
Read the quotation beyond the main freight charge
Compare included and excluded stages, origin and destination charges, the treatment of duties and taxes, quotation validity and assumptions. Discuss how changes in cargo, documents or delivery requirements affect the proposal. Confirm arrangements in writing before booking.
Check communication and exception handling
Identify the business contact and escalation path. Ask how document questions, schedule changes and delivery appointments are communicated. Keep the agreed scope and the inquiry reference together. A website inquiry records requirements; the business team confirms the shipment proposal and booking.
The shipment proposal confirms the actual service provider, responsibilities, cargo acceptance and charges. This page does not establish customs eligibility, duties or a release date.
